Want to Feel Good? Try One Small Act of Kindness
As copious research has shown, doing good makes you feel good. The kind things you do for others benefit you most of all. Unselfish acts boost your physical health, combat depression, increase your life satisfaction, and elevate your mental well-being. Not convinced? You might try one small kindness each day.
To that end, Action for Happiness has created a monthly calendar. Each day features one small thing you can do to benefit someone else. You can conduct your own research. Why not give it a try for a month, and see how you feel?
Action for Happiness is “a movement of people taking action to create a happier and kinder world together.”
It has “no religious, political or commercial affiliations and welcome[s] people of all faiths (or none) and all parts of society. Our members make a simple pledge: to create more happiness and less unhappiness in the world.”
